New Horizons Mission Statement (“Being Single can be lonely if you allow it to be”)
Our Single Adult Ministry is an outreach ministry of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, which shares the love of Christ by providing opportunities for worship, service, mission, support, humanitarians, study, networking, and fellowship within our Christian Community. We seek to provide a spiritual place for personal growth and development for all single adults, whether you are widowed, divorced, never married or just single.
Our ministry is especially designed for younger adults; however, no one of good spirit and intentions will be turned away from our fellowship and it’s blessings.
Our Goals
We welcome adults who are single by choice or by circumstance.
We will provide opportunities and encourage singles participations within our church community.
We will brainstorm topics/challenges that singles adults face within our church and our society.
We will volunteer within our community.
We will brainstorm ideas to change the negative stereotype of being single.
We will have activities where we come together as one.
Spiritual: Sunday School, Bible Study, Prayer
Support: Nurture one another within ministry, offer emotional support
Study: Issues and interest concerning single adults
Service: Community Service within our church and community
Social: Monthly trips/events
